Prayer for the contrite heart

A Prayer for a repentant sinner

2 Corinthians 7:10 says “A broken heart and a contrite spirit mean to experience “godly sorrow [that] worketh repentance”

Father, I lay at your feet this hour with deep feelings of filth, guilt, and despair as I feel very, very lost and desperate.

Lord! As a sinner who is unworthy of your grace and presence, I come to you now repenting of all my sins and pleading for you to have mercy on me. Pour out your grace on me. So that I can shine and walk without shame,

I might be sounding like a broken record, because, ever so often, I lay at your feet making these similar confessions., and each time I end up saying “Forgive me, Father, for my sins, take me back as your prodigal son”. Father lord, I know I have been bruised, I’ve been battered by life’s issues, Vicissitudes of Life almost turned me into a damaged good, but now, I surrender all to you, take me, make me into what you want, you know I cannot do this on my own. Consecrate my life to your will

I say this knowing you are not a man but you are God and your mercy over my life endures forever, the reason you are ever so forgiving. You sent your son to the cross on Calvary so his blood will wash me clean.

I thank you for your words Tell me in Ephesians 3:20 “Now unto him that can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us” I thank you Father for your grace I am forever grateful that our Lord Jesus Christ took the condemnation and judgment of my sins upon Himself at Calvary so that His righteousness might be imputed to me by grace through faith

Father, strengthen me as the Bible tells me that the weak should say they are strong. I am strong in Jesus’ mighty name amen.

Father, breathe your spirit into me let me have strength let me once again sing praises to you, let me once again talk to you like a son talks to a father. Lord, I thank you because I know that you have heard me and things are going to be different henceforth

I thank you for blessing my plight in Jesus’ mighty name I pray Amen
